KRYSTAL ENTERPRISES

Now 28 years in business, Krystal Enterprises is the world’s largest manufacturer of stretch limousines and a top builder of professional vehicles and luxury mid-size buses. From a garage mishap to a company that generates millions of dollars in revenues, Krystal has earned its unrivaled reputation in the transportation industry for its legendary commitment to quality and safety.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Edward Grech, founder and CEO of Krystal Enterprises, began his career in the auto-repair industry. By the inception of Krystal, he had owned three of his own body shops. Occasionally he had bought damaged cars to restore and re-sell, until one day in 1981 when he bought a fire-damaged Cadillac. Unwittingly, Mr. Grech joked to his foreman that they should cut the Cadillac in half and build a limousine. Upon returning from lunch that day, there in front of him sat the Cadillac, cut down the middle into two pieces! And so, on that day, the conversion of his first limousine began.

A REPUTATION FOR EXCELLENCE

As President of Krystal Enterprises, Ed Grech is primarily involved in company growth; however, he still takes a hands-on approach to the operation of Krystal, making sure that all the vehicles of his diverse product line are manufactured to the utmost quality standards. Ed Grech’s firm belief in constant improvement and quality control has led to Krystal’s continual success, despite its rapid growth and ever-expanding product line.

If you ask Ed Grech how to attain success in business, one of the first pieces of advice he will give is, “Surround yourself with good people,” and that is exactly what he has done. For a company that is 28 years old, it is amazing to see how many employees have worked at Krystal for over 20 years.

The amount of success that the company has achieved is largely attributed to Krystal's hard-working and loyal employees. Krystal dedicates itself to a standard of excellence in innovative design, manufacturing and customer satisfaction; however, Krystal takes great pride in the safety of its vehicles. Krystal was the first limousine manufacturer to conduct and pass certified crash tests for vehicle safety after conversion.

Krystal’s passing of a certified crash test on the 110-inch conversion (the largest conversion available at the time) was a groundbreaking discovery, as the industry previously believed that only a 72-inch or smaller conversion would comply with NHTSA safety standards. This is just one of the many ways that Krystal Enterprises has revolutionized the transportation industry. Krystal Enterprises was one of the original Qualified Vehicle Modifiers for Ford and among the first to obtain Cadillac Master Coachbuilder status. Krystal is annually recognized by Ford and General Motors with the QVM World’s Top Volume Award and CMC Award. The company’s reputation, success and vision helped earn Edward Grech the Orange County Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1995, a prestigious honor given based on innovation, business growth, sales, marketing, and overall business success.
